Saturday Flashback

High school jams... or "what I listened to back in the day". I've tailored the questions a little bit.

Tagged by Krista... here it goes:

First Concert You Ever Attended? Not a lot of bands ever went to Bariloche... First was a local band: "Mosca Rosetta"

First Album You Ever Bought w/Your Own Money? First Cassette was "The Razor's Edge" by AC/DC, first CD was "Animals" by Pink Floyd

First Single You Ever Bought? I never bought a Single in my whole life... as a matter of fact it is very rare to find singles in Argentina.

Song that Rocked Your High School Dances? Same as with Mark I was never too fond to dances during high school.

First music video that drove you to go buy an Album?
"What would you say" by Dave Matthews Band. I remain in love with "Under a table and Dreaming" CD till today.

Next international Band you plan to see? The Police! they are coming next December, the tickets are as expensive as they can get, but well worth it.

I'll Only tag Midori in this case.

Ok you two, I am not THAT old :-) By album I meant complete body of work, not necessarily the format. AC/DC is what’s up! I hope to be able to see THe Police somewhere…

    Esteban,

I left some comments back on my post, but thought about one other aspect as relates to your list. AC/DC caught my eye on your list, as I have a few in my rack of CDs. In fact, I’ve heard a fewer older ones with Bon Scott on the radio recently that got me all nostalgic.

Ostensible, I had two peer / social groups in high school. My best friend who started my on Alan Parsons and I were solidly in the nerd computer group. It was nerd only in those days because the school had perhaps a dozen Apple IIe systems, and comp science was not required.

The high school was rural, and a fair portion of the guys were into cars. Today, I think we’d tag them as “red necks”, and being a nerd I got picked on a lot until I started to channel my inner red neck. I bought an old camaro, wore flannel shirts, jeans and a jean jacket and began to listen to heavy metal. AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Ozzy, etc, etc.

Foundationally, what I did in those two groups really has shown up in my life and I don’t regret it.
