Rambles and Riff Raff about all this and that
Pimp My ThinkPad
Published by Esteban Glas on December 8th, 2006 | This post lacks all category except for: All this and that, Lenovo

So, yesterday was “lenovo pride day”, and besides a global meeting with the companies top executives (which we couldn’t attend since the lines sort of collapsed) we got a pack of merchandising. Amongst the items we got stickers to replace the “old” IBM ones with new “ThinkPad” ones. (in the picture my R50e). I guess this sort of replies “inside the box >> The Most Useless Feature on a thinkpad“:
(…)“I’d be very interested in hearing what you think is the most useless feature on a ThinkPad.” (…) 3. The IBM Logo – (har har har — always a jokester in any crowd)
Personally I’d like to see ThinkPads delivered with the Lenovo & ThinkPad logos already.

Can these stickers be purchased? I would pay good money to be able to replace the IBM logos on my T42, even though it was made pre-Lenovo days.
What’s so good about that sticker? I like the IBM logo better.
The IBM logo is so much better. When I custom ordered my T60 this past August, I made sure that it came with the IBM logo.
BTW starting with the T60, it is an option to have either the IBM or the ThinkPad logo.
I’ll quote our CEO, Bill Amelio, “it is hard to go to work everyday and see another company’s logo”.
As iconic as the IBM logo is I believe the thinkpad one fits much better on the sober TP design.
Am I biased? You bet!!
